Reminders with a twist

Hello, curious if anyone has a solution to this. I want to have reminders to do routine tasks. Simple enough, Apple Reminders or apps like Todoist will handle this. However, I want to easily see the last time I did the task. For example, if I have a task to do X every three months, but when it comes due I keep pushing it out, I want to see how time has passed since I last did the task. I also want to share this information with my spouse.

One could say just don’t postpone doing the task, but life gets in the way…

If you integrate Reminders with Apple Calendar – check “Scheduled Reminders” under “Other” calendars – then in Calendar search for the name of a recurring reminder you’ll see all the dates it was done and all the dates it was not done. (YMMV – the results are not always accurate.) If these data are out there, you could probably have Claude or one of its friends write a script for you and create a shortcut to grab the data.

I’m pretty sure that Todoist has a log history you could refer to. It also supports sharing so you and your wife would be able to see the task history

If you have a Gmail account, the Tasks app shows the date completed.

I like this app, Directive. $10/yr for sync and more than 10 tasks but you can share with a partner and helps you see history of all the items.

Thanks. I’ll take a look at the app.
