Remove "Cleanshot X" Is Accessing Your Screen?

Anyone have an idea of how to get rid of this message? It pops up every time I invoke CleanShot X. It’s super inconvenient as sometimes I need to take a screenshot of that area of the screen.

I found this:

Wow, love how he validates how frustrating this is! I’ll keep this in mind if I need to do screen recordings, but for now I’d prefer not to kill control center all the time.

I’ll keep searching for a solution. Thanks @WayneG!

I’m wondering what the root bug you and the guy in the video are hitting, because I haven’t hit it in any of the OS releases (definitely not 15.2 as he mentions in the video). Maybe CleanShot support will be able to help, since presumably there’s a decent fraction of people running into it?

Also worth trying (from the same guy) although comments are mentioning it not working on 15.3.1, if you need that: Suppress new "Accessing Your Screen" notices from Control Center (in macOS 15.2) · Issue #6 · luckman212/screencapture-nag-remover · GitHub

Maybe this?

I have this issue too. And it is driving me nuts. I have spoken to the developer and got nowhere. I’ll have a go with these suggestions and report back.

Success! The Apple Insider tip above worked for me…

  1. Open Terminal
  2. Enter “open $HOME/Library/Group\ Containers/group.com.apple.replayd” then hit return
  3. Finder window pops open - delete the “ScreenCaptureApprovals.plist” file
  4. Restart your computer
    Boom!

This worked!!!

Thanks so much for posting the series of steps @RichH, and thanks to all who chimed in to get this solved. I hope this’ll be helpful for folks who end up here looking for a solution as well.

Has anyone tested if this needs to be redone every once in a while, e.g. after updating?

I updated to 15.4.1 yesterday and just updated to CleanShot X 4.7.6 just now to test this and I’m not experiencing the problem.
