Replacement for frayed Magic Keyboard

I’ve been using a Magic Keyboard with my M1 iPad Air since 2022, and while I like a lot of the features, I’m not a fan of the actual material it’s made out of. It’s been fraying at the edges ever since I got it, but by now it’s gotten really bad. I also used a skin on it after it started fraying (a few months after I got it), which helped but never really liked the feel of it.

While I want to get some kind of replacement for it, I really don’t want to just buy another magic keyboard that will develop the same kind of issues too. I think the logitech combo might hold up more, but I imagine is much harder to use on an actual lap (which I do quite often).
Anyone have any recommendations for what I should look at?

How about a polymer sealant on the frayed parts and rest of the edges? It won’t fix the discoloration, but it’ll probably extend the life.

something like this?

That looks good. Try a small application first before going nuts.

how so? on only one of the corners?

Yes, or maybe an inch or so along an edge.

Try the ESR case/keyboard. I like it an far cheaper than Magic.

Have you considered holding it close and whispering into its ear, “Don’t be afraid, little keyboard”?

Cover it all in stickers!

Or, as suggested above, the ESR keyboards are decent. I have one. The material is a far more durable, soft rubber feeling material. No signs of wear after 2 years of use. Keyboard is actually much better in my opinion. A great typing experience that also includes the special key row at the top. It’s Bluetooth so needs charging every so often. Feels fairly stable as the base is slightly heavier (has a battery in it). It’s a bit thicker too.

Trackpad works pretty well though not perfect like the Magic Keyboard.

They have quite a few options/configurations so if you order one of these be sure to check the details.
