Saved search results empty (Spotlight server disabled)

I use macOS’s saved search feature to have a quick view on all documents that were added in the last 7 days. A few days ago this stopped returning any results (although I definitely created new documents).

I tried all tips mentioned here:

However, macOS keeps complaining that my Spotlight server is disabled.

How can I fix this issue?

Seems to work again after a reboot…

Those are pretty ancient (in Apple years) versions of macOS. That advice might not be current.
