Scansnap IX500 Not Connecting Wirelessly

Morning All -

My Scansnap has stop connecting via wireless. Here is what I have done:

  • Deleted the scansnap home software (using App Cleaner) and reinstalled it after restarting the computer
  • Gone through the wireless setup process 4x

As soon as I disconnect the USB cable when prompted during the wireless setup, the connection is lost.

I logged into my router and did veryify that the MAC address of the scanner shows up there under active connections.

Help appreciated!

I’m having déjà vu…

I think we discussed this once before, but I don’t remember the details. I believe the final solution was in System Settings?

Maybe someone else has a better memory than I do.

Huh. Does not ring a bell.

I have successfully connected wirelessly using a new user account at this point. Hoping to resolve for my existing account however!

Been a while since had to use direct cable, but we have had a few problems connecting wirelessly when my wife and I switch devices we want to use to receive the scan. I can’t recall the details, but things I tend to check that have resolved those issues had to do usually with the scanner not the software. Check setting > WiFi > Connect Mode is set to Access point connection. And of course your WiFi settings. Then one thing for us was selecting the little person icon in the upper left and choosing which person/device we are trying to reach. Sorry that’s not a lot of help.

The most recent topic was referring to a system setting that had to be re-enabled again.

Thanks! I’m back home tomorrow and will try this/report back. The one puzzle is that it connects on a new user account.

Well… it appears to have worked!!
I followed the outlined steps AND had to reinstall the Scansnap Home software for the 1,000th time but it is at this moment working. Thanks for the detective work!
