Screen Time Chugs, Widget Blank

I’m having an issue with screen time on my phone. I’m trying to cut back my usage so I put the widget on my Home Screen. Problem is, it’s blank most of the time:

If I go into Settings—> Screen Time, I just see the pinwheel turning and it grinds and grinds. Same for when my kids send a screen time request. I’ll open the request and then it takes 30 seconds to see it.

Why is screen time so chuggy? Why is the widget blank half the time?

I tried turning ST off and reactivating. It works better briefly and then back to bogging down and blank widgets.

Widgets aren’t real time, they can only be refreshed so many times a day.

I knew that, but I didn’t know it was THAT bad. LOL.

Yep, I discovered that a while back. I have 9 widgets on my iPP home screen.

I’ve never been a fan of the “stacks”. Too many moving parts. But I’ve also never given them a chance to get to know me, and this kind of makes them seem like they might be worth while. Thanks for the info.

I don’t use stacks either. Never found a use for them.

I’m running into what seem to be constant screentime bugs. My own screen time calculation chugs endlessly; and some apps (eg, TikTok, YouTube and Roblox) seem immune from time limits on some phones (and no, it isn’t a matter of incorrect settings or a broken passcode). Really frustrating.
