Screen time habits - Remedy

I stopped trusting screen time and have an automation that turns on Color filters automatically when a focus filter is turned on or some app like YouTube is run… Also, when that focus mode turns off it triggers the turns off Color filter using Apple shortcuts.

Greyscale allows us to use the device but is very off putting so people including myself realize it’s time to put down the phone.

Apps like freedom and onesec never worked for me.

What helps me most is physical distance to my devices. So I cannot distract myself too easily. I mean to experiment with going out only with my cellular Apple Watch. Apart from, I am a fan of ScreenZen because it allows me to set a fixed number of accessing distractions. Can be circumvented, but felt most helpful for me. Another point worth taking into consideration is what you want to do instead. Maybe find an appealing option that makes leaving the phone behind easier.
