Hi all, after a year or two of frustration with 1Password’s poor support of Safari profiles, I’ve switch to Apple Passwords + the third party “Access” app that will take in non-password info from 1Password. However there’s still a missing hole: security questions and custom fields from password fields, which are not included in the CSV export that 1Password provides and I therefore haven’t been able to import into Apple Passwords.
Anyone who has made this switch: what do you suggest? Ideally I’d like this info to be imported into the “Notes” field of Apple Passwords but I’m not sure how to do that. Thanks for any help.
I don’t have a good solution for you, unfortunately. I ended up manually adding that information to Passwords in batches. I didn’t have that many entries in 1Password (maybe 350 total), and I used the switch as an excuse to cut that down to 250ish. Only a fraction of those had security questions or custom fields, so I’d guess I had ~50 entries that I had to manually migrate. That was manageable for me, but I understand it could quickly become tedious for those with many more passwords.
Oh my goodness! This community is incredible! I’ve been struggling with 1password and the horrible software updates. They recently released a version that automatically pre-fills your username and password when you add a new login. Instead of immediately providing an option to enable this feature in the settings, they advised users to switch to the beta release.
To make matters worse, they had the audacity to suggest that users would need to download the test flight in order to use the one-password beta Safari extension. If a regular user downloads and installs the test flight, their account could potentially be set up as a developer account. This could trigger Apple security to flag their account and email for suspicious activity.
I just spent a week trying to recover my iCloud email because 1password is so terrible at listening to community feedback.
