Shortcuts: problem getting Numbers to open a file

It looks to me, from a Google search, as though this may be a known issue, but from what I have read, it is supposedly fixed in Sequoia 15.0.1 - which does not seem to be the case for me.

What I am trying to do should be pretty simply: I want to be able to open a bunch of Numbers documents via a Shortcut. At the lowest level, I just have this action in a Shortcut:

When I run the shortcut, I first get the following:

(“Finances” is the name of the Shortcut).

When I click the OK button, I then get:

CleanShot 2024-12-25 at 11.19.52@2x

I can, of course, open the spreadsheet directly in Numbers, either from the Finder or the Open menu item in Numbers.

I have tried giving Shortcuts full disk access, as have others who have posted on the Internet, but that does not change the behavior.

I was wondering if anyone knew what is going on here and ideally how to fix it.

NB: I do know there are plenty of workarounds. I could have Shortcuts run a shell script or an AppleScript to open files in Numbers; I could make this a Keyboard Maestro macro instead, invoked either by a Shortcut or directly from KM, etc. I can solve the problem in the sense of what it is that I want to accomplish. My question here to try to figure out why this presumably simply operation in Shortcuts does not work.

Thanks!

Where’s the spreadsheet stored? I’m trying to make my shortcut fail. I’m on 15.2 so maybe there was another patch beyond .0.1.

This works for me:

Thank you for the responses.

I found that it is working on one computer, which is at 15.1, but not on the one I was originally testing it on, which is at 15.0.1, so it does seem to be a bug that was eventually fixed.
