Slideshow apps-Recommendations?

Hello,

I need to create two slideshows in the next three weeks. I know how to do this in iMovie but I had seen an app that I thoughtI had downloaded with one free use. I was going to do one of the slideshows and then pay for the license.

I’ve done a search and came across these:

  • FotoMagico (by Boinx Software) — classic Mac slideshow maker, 1 free project then paid
  • Movavi Slideshow Maker — direct download, trial model
  • Filmora (Wondershare) — free with watermark, pay to remove

None seem familiar but if you have used them, do you have opinions? Are there others I should be aware of?

Keynote???

Not sure how fancy you need it to be… but it has plenty of effects built in.

I do a slideshow type thing once or twice a year at most. For that I use LibreOffice present. Work fine for my limited needs.

Keynote is brilliant. Simple and powerful. And pretty.

Free. And it works on Mac, iPad and iPhone.

Thanks to all. I wanted video and I know I can do that in Keynote but I used iMovie. I have plans to learn Final Cut Pro but wanted to do this for my 47th wedding anniversary. I recently lost my husband and this was healing.

That was a lovely presentation and musical choice. I liked the brief live video with the cats in the middle! I’m sorry that you’ve lost him.

So sorry to hear that you lost your husband. Losing a spouse or any loved one leaves a deep void in our lives.

Yet, it was a blessing to have a long and what seems to have been a very loving marriage! My wife and I recently celebrated our 44th anniversary. Lord willing, we will have many more.

So sorry for your loss. May his memory be a blessing.

@violagail I used to use Fotomagic.
This is from 2012 when I put together a quick slideshow/movie for friends. It was done with a very old version, but you can see some of the things you can do. Two points I remember is a) You can combine movies and photos and b) The app can time the slideshow with music,

The subject is motor racing, so please accept my apologies, it feels a little crass in comparison with your film, but it might give you an idea

Sorry to hear that. I watched the video end to end, the music was beautiful.

These are the days of crazy digital lifes. But you captured the upside to it --having the option to collect and recall what is good and create a tribute for your loved one through the years. Time passes, we change, but love is what remains.

Thanks for sharing this.
