Software from The Eclectic Light Company

Continuing the discussion from Slow backups w/Time Machine and an External HD:

Some of the software at The Eclectic Light Company looks interesting, such as LockRattler to check security of your Mac.

Does anyone know if this software is trustworthy?
(i.e. does it phone home with “massive security hole at this IP!”)

Howard Oakley is a generous and intelligent guy who makes some really handy stuff. Safe to use! Check out his site for a wealth of info.

100%.

Although I don’t know Howard except via his website, he seems to be genuinely interested in helping people deal with the… foibles… of macOS.

I am very happy that Patrick and Howard are on “our side” because I would not want the Mac community to have to face them as enemies!

I trust Howard Oakley 100%. His software is safe – and well documented. The tech articles are very useful. His Saturday puzzler is fun. And his articles on painting are very interesting.
