Spam blocker for text messages recommendation wanted — iPhone and Mac

I’m looking for recommendations for a good spam-blocker for text messages that works across the iPhone, iPad and Mac — mainly the iPhone and Mac.

In addition to general spam-blocking, I want to block all messages containing a specific string of text — I get a lot of spam messages from Democrats seeking political donations, and virtually all of them have links to actblue.

Watching this carefully. My goodness have the spam texts (and voicemails) increased in the last few months!

AT&T is my provider and their ActiveArmor does a great job blocking voice spam. However, it’s terrible at text spam.

I don’t get a lot of text spam, but the new Messages feature has caught a couple of unwanted texts so far. You will have to teach it about texts from numbers that aren’t already in your Contacts.

I’ve been adding the short codes to the contact pages for my doctor, pharmacy, etc. as they are received so I’ve had to do very little training. And I only accept texts sent to my phone number, never to an email address.

Any suggestions for people that have a business? I’m getting a lot of text messages from Democratic organizations and I still have to keep lines open so that I can get texts and calls from new clients.

Lines? Are you using mobile, voip, or both? I didn’t think about it when I responded earlier, but several years ago I used an app called Nomorobo. As I recall, it worked well at that time. It’s expensive and I don’t know much about it today, but it has 4 1/2 stars in the App Store.

“Lines of communication”: calls and texts. I think that political texts are “protected communications” and nothing will stop them, by design. But I’m still hoping…

Xfinity seems to think it can block them.

What about political and charity calls?
Nomorobo does block political robocalls. You can enable or disable this feature by clicking Edit next to your number when signed into your account on the Nomorobo website. Nomorobo doesn’t block charity calls.

signed up for Nomorobo Max. Want text screening greeting like NM does for calls. I need to get new clients’ texts, who are unknown by default.

Let us know how it works for you. The way 2026 is shaping up I might be needing it again myself.:grinning:

I turned off the call screening, left on the text screening. I don’t get too many texts from new clients, and the ones I do get are low quality - they don’t respond back.

Following this too. My text spam has increased drastically over I’d say the last two months or so. Many of them follow a similar structure, and very often come from SMS Short Codes, and not “phone numbers.” While I report/block all of them, that hasn’t staunched the inflow. And of course, stop=end is to be avoided in many cases, certainly in these.

Call screening can’t be turned off with Nomorobo Max and I’m missing new client calls. Shame, as their text screening is flawless. Unsubscribed.
