It really is. I was recently near some Verizon 5G UWB (Ultra Wideband) towers and got better down speeds than my gig fiber at home!

Interesting to see how, like early broadband, it is heavily asymmetrical.

Been using it exclusively for home broadband for the past year and it’s been generally excellent.
Speeds have dropped slightly from 800Mbps down we were getting at launch to now around 400Mbps. Checking the providers website, they no longer state that we can get 5G in my location, but the router is stating we are!
We have had some hiccups over the last week or so on streaming - not sure if that’s our end or elsewhere (only seems to happen on BBC iPlayer).

Wish the 5G networks in my area were like that. I’ve never thought to run an actual speed test, because every time I’m on a 5G network my data is essentially useless. It takes forever to do anything. 
5g here tests out at fast.com to be 19 Mbps.
Clear that there is a lot of variability in the world.
