Spotify crashing on Mac

I’ve been super frustrated with Spotify, which continues to crash on my Mac around the 1 minute 50 second mark. It seems that a number of people are facing this issue and Spotify is directing them to Apple! I was wondering if anyone in the community here has faced it/might know what is up.
