I currently use Obsidian and use their encrypted sync. I have used Standard Notes in the past and they are doing their 50% life discount again.
Are there any advantages with Standard Notes over Obsidian (with Obsidian’s encrypted sync)? I ask as I work with sensitive information and wondering if either has any advantages in this context?
I think Standard Notes are more privacy oriented. While Obsidian sync is also end-to-end encryption, your files are also within the normal file system which is more portable (simply copy and paste to other drives for backup) and no additional password protection for individual notes if you want.
Honestly I haven’t tried Standard Notes but it joined Proton so it is more suitable for your case of sensitive information? Not to mention it’s open source.
