Stopped getting notifications from Catalina Messages app

I get alerts from Mail and Keyboard Maestro, but no longer from Messages.

  • I’ve quit the Notifications process in Activity Monitor.
  • Deleted com.apple.ncprefs.plist and com.apple.notificationcenterui.plist and restarted the Mac. (However, my app-level settings were still there, so I didn’t get everything)
  • Checked Messages preferences and see nothing there that would affect this.
  • Googled for nearly an hour and found nothing that helped.

Using current Catalina on a 2013 iMac. Settings screenshots attached.

What should I try next?

Thanks for the quick response. I’m getting messages on my Mac, in the Messages app. I’m NOT getting notifications for those messages. That’s the problem I’m trying to fix.
