Strange behaviour c-key after Sequioa upgrade

This morning I upgraded my Mac Mini (M2) to macOS Sequoia 15.1. After this upgrade I noticed that the c-key was not working oorrectly. At least not in some apps, like iTerm and BBEdit.

When the ‘c’ is the first character on a line, it doesn;t show up after the first keypress, but only after the second time. So it acts like a kind of dead key.

I’m using a Magic Keyboard over bluetooth.

I have no clue what could cause this behavious. Did anyone noticed this too? Or does anyone have a hint where to look for?

I haven’t seen this in Sequoia. I suspect it’s probably a mechanical error with the keyboard. Another possibility is the Bluetooth connection with that device has gone flakey. In Bluetooth settings try forgetting the device and then pairing it again.

I used to see this on my PowerBook 8200c but with the D-key. Turns out I was pressing it harder than other keys and had damaged the underlying circuit board; I touch type so exert different pressures on various keys.

use KeyLimePie app - does it actually register the keystroke?

Often times when this happens, my keyboard is going bad.

It seemed to be a coincidence. Before the upgrade I had never issues with my keyboard. While directly after the upgrade one of the keys malfunctioned. Some compressed air fixed the issue.
