I’ve not noticed this before so it may always have been this way but if I add a new reminder as “Buy milk Sunday” it defaults to Sunday 9 October. Today is 26 September so I expect to to default to the next available Sunday which is 2 October. Anyone else noticing this?
just noticed the same thing when trying. That is extremely weird!
Just tried - worked as expected for me on Mac. Which OS?
iOS 16 and Mac Monterey
same here, happens on iOS16, iPadOS 16 beta and macOS monterey
Checked on iPhone and iPad - Worked as expected on these also. Actually I didn’t know it worked like that. So, I learned something new.
buy milk Sunday = 9 Oct (ah well, in Dutch that is)
adding “this week” gives 2-10
So it;s probably to do with “week starts on” settings somewhere
I’ve tried changing “week start on” in language and region settings, but so far the Sunday keeps confusing it, setting Saturday does give me Oct 1st
If I do it via Siri it sets to 2 October
Strange - This is what I get:
Sys Preferences > Date and Time > Lang and regions > Advanced > 1st Day of week
Today is Sept 26th
1st Day of week = Sunday " buy milk Sunday" = 10/02/2022 - Correct
1st Day of week = Monday " buy milk Sunday" = today - INCORRECT
1st Day of week = Sunday " buy milk Saturday" = 10/01/2022 - Correct
1st Day of week = Monday " buy milk Saturday" = 10/01/2022 - Correct
could be my setup:
1st Day of week = Sunday " buy milk Sunday" = reminders crashes with “region settings error”
1st Day of week = Monday " buy milk Sunday" = 10/09/2022 - INCORRECT
1st Day of week = Sunday " buy milk Saturday" = 10/01/2022 - Correct
1st Day of week = Monday " buy milk Saturday" = 10/01/2022 - Correct
just rebooted the machine to be sure:
1st Day of week = Sunday " buy milk Sunday" = 10/09/2022 - INCORRECT
1st Day of week = Monday " buy milk Sunday" = 10/09/2022 - INCORRECT
1st Day of week = Sunday " buy milk Saturday" = 10/01/2022 - Correct
1st Day of week = Monday " buy milk Saturday" = 10/01/2022 - Correct
so, it’s very strange
I 'm in the US. Maybe that plays a role in this. You were correct that “week start on” day is a factor.
That really is weird!
Monday is set as first day of the week for me.
Maybe it’s AI at work. “Oh, you never do it when you set out to do it…”
