The good news is that there’s an update to the Stream Deck software.
The bad news is that when I launched the app after updating it, all of my customizations were gone.
The relief was that when I re-launched the app, they came back. But that’s the last time I’ll take that chance without exporting a backup of my configuration first.
Doing that is a fairly easy process, but if you don’t know where it is, it can be hard to discover:
Follow the red from top-to-bottom:
- Click on the gear icon in the red box
- That will open the preferences window. Click on “Profiles”
- Make sure the profile is selected
- Click the minuscule “v” near the bottom
- Choose “Export”
Obviously if you have other profiles, repeat steps 3-5 for each of them.
I probably could have figured out how to restore this file from Time Machine or Backblaze, but I’d much rather have an export of it tucked safely away in ~/Dropbox/Backups/StreamDeck/
