Snoopy is my weekend default watch face.
I have been impressed by the variety of animations as well as how some of the animations interact with the watch hands.
It’s my full time watch face. Absolutely love it. So nice to see Apple bringing back some whimsy to its OS’s.
I miss hunting for Easter eggs. There were some good ones.
That’s a lot of work but sadly despite how much I love Snoopy it isn’t going to be my day-to-day Watch Face. I use complications — including Workout and Remniders — but the Snoopy face does not permit them.
This is the nice thing about widgets. I don’t need complications on the watch face since I can now such scroll the crown to access additional information. I like being able to enjoy a watch face that is not dependent on complications.
It took a bit to get used to not glancing down, but exactly, widgets are great.
I am working on slowing down in general, and being less connected every minute of each hour. Spending less time with tech and more time thinking and planning on paper. Snoopy has become a great reminder that not every minute needs to be “productive”
It is quick access to the Workout app that is my main on-face complication. When I step outside the door I want to start the workout as quickly as possible and not spend time scrolling through other apps to get started. But each of us personalises not only the Watch Face but our uses of the Watch. Ultimately YMMV.
Snoopy is cute but I need the watch complications, otherwise it’s more difficult to use. For me, the Mickey Mouse watch face didn’t last long either, and it had the added feature that it would tell you the time. At least Snoopy should bark on the hour.
I too want quick access to the workout complication. I’ve pinned the related widget to the top. I short scroll brings it up in less than a sec.
I’m using the Solar Analog during the week and Snoopy on the weekend.
I have set a shortcut to automatically switch to the Snoopy face in the evenings. I used to have it switch to the Photos face, but the Snoopy one is delightful! Another shortcut switches the face back to “work mode” each morning.
I’ll have to get or make that shortcut!
It’s very simple, just 2 steps. But there are some tricks (of course, because it’s Shortcuts).
You need to set an “Automation” in shortcuts using the time, and set it to run immediately so you don’t have to confirm it. Look for the Automation tab at the bottom of the main Shortcuts screen.
The final step is to set the watch face. In iOS17 I couldn’t find the watch shortcuts on the iPhone. There are some shortcuts, apps, and actions listed, but searching at this level didn’t bring up the Watch actions. To get to them, you need to tap “New Blank Automation”, which also gives suggestions — but at the bottom there’s another search bar. If you search for “watch” here, you should find the “set watch face” action that allows you to choose from your current set of faces. And that’s it!
Thanks for the detailed explanation, I’m going to give that a try. Much appreciated!
Just swipe left or right to another face when you want a complication. Otherwise enjoy the antics of Snoopy and Woodstock.
It’s not quite as simple on the latest Watch OS, you must press on the current watch face to edit, then swipe to a new face.
Agreed. At least the option for complications.
