I’m going to dust off my Vision Pro for this:
So I got to watch most of the show last night on my Vision Pro. At first the video was pretty glitchy, it would freeze and sometimes show John with two heads. But after about 5 minutes it settled down and worked pretty well.
Since the Vision Pro is so heavy, I had to take a couple of breaks, so missed a few minutes. But learned some interesting tidbits as usual.
One thing that stood out was the distinction between Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. As Craig explained it, the things that they call machine learning can run on older processors and therefore work on more devices. The AI features require the M class processors or the IPhone 15 Pro A class chip.
I love the talk show, but the last few years I can’t watch the wwdc interview show because John keeps going on and on with “this is more of a comment than a question.” Type questions and Craig can only answer Yeah exactly.
I know that most of the time I listen to the talk show for conversation and John is amazing at that, but these interviews I want to hear the Apple guest opinions, and let John have opinions the rest of the time.
If you get what I’m saying, and watched this years show- do you predict I’ll find it better or the same as recent years.
That’s true, he does do that too much. I remember thinking a few times, shut up John and let your guests talk.
You probably won’t like it if you didn’t like previous years.
Does anyone have an audio transcript?
(In particular for the DMA segment, where Craig Frederighi apparently said that we could buy Android devices?)
It’s true, he did say that. Apple Podcasts app does transcriptions now.
“Like, if you want an Android phone, go buy it.”

BTW, I love how you can tap on the text in the iPhone Podcast app and it will start playing at that point. But I couldn’t figure out how to do that on the Mac app. Is this an iOS only feature?
