Thunderbolt 2 docking for MacBook Air (13-inch, 2017)

I can’t find a good docking situation for my 2017 MacBook Air. Every day when I get to work I have to connect to my display (HDMI to Thunderbolt 2), Ethernet and keyboard (through a USB dock), and now a webcam and mic…not to mention my power supply and the occasional need to charge a mouse. I’d love to just hook it all up to one docking station through the Thunderbolt…but I can’t find one that’s reasonably priced. Because it’s niche, prices are way higher than newer docks OR they are used.

  • Is there a Thunderbolt 2 docking station that I’m just not finding?
    OR
  • Is there a way to use a modern USB-C docking station with an adapter?
    OR
  • Is there another docking solution that can manage 3+ USB inputs, ethernet, and HDMI?

It’s Thunderbolt 1, rather than 2, but couldn’t you replace most of that setup with a second hand Apple Thunderbolt Display?

It handles charging, being a monitor, has a webcam, speakers, and microphone. Thunderbolt and USB ports, etc.

You can pick them up on meat etc for a few hundred dollars now.

Maybe something like this? https://www.belkin.com/us/p/P-F4U085/

Specs say it’s a thunderbolt 2

Long story short: A new monitor isn’t justifiable at this point, but a docking station would be.
