TinyPod -- a case for the Watch

Seems silly at first, but is actually a clever idea for a minimalist phone.

I see the appeal, but I like my AW because I don’t have to fish it out of my pocket, and if it’s not on your wrist it can’t track health and exercise. It’s an interesting idea, but definitely not for me.

Agree about the AW: the iPod never disappeared, it just became the Apple Watch and now lives on my wrist instead of my pocket. With 64GB storage, that’s more than enough room for me to carry music, podcasts, etc. on days that I don’t feel like keeping an iPhone on me at all times.

I agree! I have a cellular model, and it’s very freeing. I had to pick up my daughter today, and when I got in the car I noticed I didn’t have my phone. I thought about going in to get it, then realized I didn’t need it. I could still make and receive calls and texts, check my calendar, etc.

The bump to 64gb in the Series 9 and Ultra 2 is a nice upgrade, and with cellular I can even listen to things I haven’t downloaded ahead of time.

Cellular for me really is the killer feature. During the pandemic, my AW became an integral part of my daily walks, I was able to stream podcasts and take calls while I was getting time away from being stuck indoors all day with my phone

I may do with an Ultra if there isn’t a mini iPhone within a couple more years.

I’m getting one. I have been using my Apple Watch as a Cell Phone Alternative for over a year now but I am partial to ā€œrealā€ watches. This is a perfect way to do both.

@murphyslaw please report back and let us know what you think of the TinyPod.

I was actually going to get the Light Phone 3 and ditch the Phone and the Watch both but $80 vs. $800.
