Yes, the goals are similar with Tapestry.
A big advantage of Tapestry is that you can create your own sources by writing “Connectors” (in JavaScript) that generate data.
I am in the beta and created two connectors so far: one that shows me entries from my Trakt calendar (episodes from TV shows or movies that are released today) and one that shows me a graph of yesterday’s production data of my solar panels. I have a few other ideas, but currently no time to work on those.
Tapestry is (probably) only a one-time purchase for backers of the Wool tier and above and might use subscriptions for new users (non-backers).
