Storage optimization was enabled on my iMac. Since macOS Catalina, all files are deleted locally almost immediately and only stored in the cloud: You can recognize it by the small cloud next to the file name.
I deactivated memory optimization the usual way:
- Click the Apple icon in the upper left corner of your Mac’s screen.
- Select System Preferences from the drop down menu.
- Click on iCloud.
- Click on Options next to iCloud Drive.
- Click to uncheck the checkbox at the bottom of the window for Optimize Mac Storage .
But it still deletes my local copies. How do I deactivate it?! Any Idea?
