iPhone, iPad, Watch and Mac Studio all updated today. No issues identified so far.
iPad especially feels quite a bit faster. Overall, a long awaited “Snow Leopard”-year.

I swiped down for Siri to launch an app just now and got a new look. I’m off the waitlist!
I’ve installed the 27 OSes on an iPhone 17 Pro Max, M4 iPad Pro, and Mac Studio. I’m enjoying Siri AI. I’m trying out switching from Alfred to the new Siri/Spotlight as my main command-space tool on the Mac. Visuals are an improvement over Tahoe (though I was never a Liquid Glass hater, so take that for what you will).
So far, the only real issue I’ve had is that menu bar managers seem to be completely broken (I’ve tried Bartender 7 and Thaw 3). In addition to being generally buggy, neither of them plays well with iStatMenus. I’m currently running sans-menu bar manager. Even after turning off a lot of menu bar items, the lineup extends more than halfway across a Studio Display. ![]()
Not available on IOS, but offered the chance to join the Waitlist on Golden Gate. ![]()
I have a feeling iStat Menus knows there is a problem. The version history on the website indicates, from yesterday, that there’s a version 7.5 update with “More details coming soon”. However, checking for updates in the app simply tells me I’m up to date when I’m on version 7.3.

I was on the AI waitlist for about 14 hours. In the UK
Waitlist seems to be getting longer. Family members are now 48 hours and still waiting
Anecdotally a lot of people seem upset by this delay and quote Siri AI as the only reason they upgraded.
After waiting patiently, I gave up and used Claude to help me troubleshoot the issue. It seems that (for some reason) the language (in settings / general) on my phone was set to English (US) and in Siri to English (UK).
As soon as I change the overall IOS language to English (UK) Siri AI became available.
I had English (Singapore) and no Siri AI. After I read your post and changed to English (US), Siri AI (Beta) appeared instantly!
Been playing around with Siri AI. The ability to ask it about whats on screen is kinda interesting but I’m struggling to find case uses tbh.
PSA…there is an update out, 27.0.1
My first Siri query after installing 27.0.1 was “list my most recently used apps”. It thought for 5 minutes (!!) then responded, “I cannot see which apps you’ve used, though I can see that Obsidian is open now”. Of course, there’s an MRU list for apps that has been around since forever, but this new Siri? Feh.

I updated to iOS 27 on my iPhone 17Pro earlier in the week, and got through the Siri waitlist in less than a day. It took about 4 days for indexing to be done. Yesterday, I asked it to tell me how many times per month I had been to the gym over the last four months. (I have a shortcut that I run whenever I leave the gym that, among a bunch of other things, creates a calendar event “Gym
”.)
It got it ridiculously wrong. I eventually refined it, including by asking “why did you miss these instances?”, and by telling it to look at a particular calendar, and then -this was the key- to look “one month at a time,” it got the results right.
Once it had that, though, I was able to just ask it, “So how many times have I been to the gym since I got back from Japan?” Now, “Japan” wasn’t on my calendar, but “Tokyo” and “Kyoto” and “Return Flight” were. And it nailed the answer. And, the answer confirmed for me why, when I went to the gym yesterday, it absolutely kicked my butt. Since our summer vacation, due to “life happening,” I haven’t been working out very much!
I also asked, “when do I need to leave the house on Monday?”, and it parsed out an appointment, gave me the drive time, and told me when I needed to leave.
Then I asked, “when is my daughter coming home?” It figured out who my daughter is, found “Fall Break” on my “Kids” calendar, and gave me the result, and then further said, based on Messages, that she is planning to bring two college friends home with her later in the fall for Thanksgiving break. That impressed me.
Mixed bag. It’s a beta.

Boring and in a good way. All devices upgraded. The only warning, your iPhone and Mac will spend some time indexing for Apple Inteligence.
Still on iOS 18.7 and attempt to update by trip next week and I don’t wanna wreck my phone before I go.
Upgraded my AirPods Pro to AirPods Pro 3 which is asking for the iOS update to enable new features. It’s not the new features that I’m looking for but for the OS to correctly identify the battery case and AirPods battery levels. At the moment all I see is the same headphones icon for both.
Am I being overly concerned about updating to iOS 27? I usually wait until .1 or .2 is released.
Any time I do an upgrade or install a patch I am introducing a change. iOS 27.2 could break something that was working perfectly for me in iOS 27.0.
So I hope for the best and prepare for the worst and upgrade when I want to upgrade. ![]()
But I always install security patches immediately. AI is finding vulnerabilities faster than companies can fix them.
