In reading about the major security update for macOS Monterey, I went to make sure my M1 laptop had run that update. To my shock and surprise, I saw no, and that after checking for updates, I was told that my Mac was up to date with Monterey 12.0.1. Huh?? How do I get my system to download and install the latest updates? It seems to have stalled.
Has anyone else run into this problem?
Did you see this in “About this Mac” under the 
menu?
Yes. I also saw it in System Preferences under Software Update.
That’s a new one on me. Looks like you aren’t the first one to have a problem like this. Maybe this will give you some ideas.
Go to the App Store and search for Monterey (or click this link). That will download the installer.
I had to do this on my M1, which said I was up to date with 12.5.
So reinstall Monterey from scratch? Is there any way of downloading just the update?
