Using media keys on keyboard with Apple Music

Hi, I just started using the Music app from Apple on my Mac and am trying to figure out how to make it work with the media keys on my keyboard.

I have an Apple Keyboard with a Play/Pause key and next/previous song keys, but they do not work with Apple Music app most of the time. I also use Youtube in google chrome and Google Play music app sometimes and it seems that the media keys always work on those apps but don’t work the Music app. I think the media keys might work with Apple Music when every other media app is closed but I’m not sure.

I want to make it so that the media keys on my keyboard always work with Music app. How can I do this?

Chrome is taking control of the media keys.

You can prevent it by disabling media keys in Chrome by going to the following address in the address bar of Chrome:

chrome://flags/#hardware-media-key-handling

Once disabled, restart Chrome and that should solve the issue.
