It’s not often that one gets to revisit a 10-year-old post, on its exact anniversary, by accident, but that’s what I did today:
As referenced in the post, I wrote a similar article for TUAW exactly 10 years ago today (18 June 2011).¹
The original post explains why I wanted to do this, but I suspect it’s obvious to most people here: there are times you want to send email but not read email.
Unfortunately, Thunderbird doesn’t work quite as well as Mailsmith did, but Mailsmith was 32-bit only, so it’s been effectively “dead” for a few years.
Anyway, if anyone wants to set this up and needs any help, let me know here and I’ll do what I can.
¹ For some reason Discourse is showing the date for the new blog post as 19 Jun 21, which is odd since it is only 9:30 p.m. on June 18th where I am. Oh well… ¡Computers!
