Vernor Vinge passes

Sad to see announcements of the death of Vernor Vinge. Writer of some of the best sci-fi I’ve read in the past 20 years. I know this forum had lots of fans.

I had not heard of him until today but have seen lots of love from fans. His Zones of Thought series has been added to my TBR!

Noah Smith of Noahpinion wrote a nice tribute of him some here might enjoy: Go read some Vernor Vinge - by Noah Smith - Noahpinion

Made me go dig out my copy of True Names, which happens to also include Bookwork Run!, The Peddler’s Apprentice, The Ungoverned and Long Shot. But the book is so old and pages so yellowed and fragile I’m not sure I can re-read it without destroying the book!
