Is there any reason that a third-party watch band would not be compatible with any given edition of Apple Watch?

I.e. if I see something in a clearance bin or on a poorly-updated website that says “compatible with Series 1, 2, 3”, is there any reason that won’t work with a brand new one?

Supposedly all of the bands for smaller watches (38/40) are compatible with each other, and same for the larger sizes (42/44.) Series 4 and later are 40/44. So you should be okay.
