Many of you may already know this, but repeatedly tapping on the “secondary” complication face after it appears upon initially tapping on the AW complication on the main watch face, the weather AW complication shows different data. I don’t know if this is an Ultra exclusive feature or not. Just passing this along for those interested.
That’s handy, I never knew about that! Works on my SE as well, so it’s not Ultra-specific.
Nothing new. That’s been how the weather complication has worked for several watchOS iterations.

Apparently, I’m a bit slow on the uptake on this one! Better late than never.
You aren’t the only late one (no offense of course) as I only just recently realised that by tapping the little icon in the top right of the weather app I get a list to directly select which data I want to see - up until recently I thought I could only cycle through the different data by tapping in the middle ring .
Works on my v4 as well
Wow! Thanks….OLD dog learning new tricks!
As soon as I tap on the complication, my Apple Watch opens the Weather app.
So I can’t tap it multiple times, but I guess you actually mean tapping on the center of the Weather app’s main screen?
(That’s something I already knew, but I’m not sure you meant that?)
Is the primary reason I don’t use Apple weather. Way too much tapping around in the watch to get the info I’m looking for.
Sorry for not being clearer. I mean tapping on the “secondary” complication face (as shown in my post) once it appears upon initially tapping on the AW complication on the main watch face. I hope that makes sense!
FWIW, one tap, and then you can scroll up or down and get other information. That is less tapping. The scroll results will depend on which AW complication you initially tap.
First tap:
Scroll Down:
Scroll Up:
But then I want to see wind, UV, pollen etc.
I’m not suggesting that AW is best for others or that one can avoid taps. In general, I agree that too many of Apple’s apps require too many unnecessary taps, e.g., the Reminders app. I’m merely sharing something I just discovered regarding the AW complications thinking that there may be others unaware of this feature.
Great tip!
Weather is one of the few apps I make heavy use of on the Watch.
Today I learned this thing even exists.
It’s very pretty, but I feel like I need an Ultra to actually see any information. It’s too information-dense for me.
Then, of course, there is the matter that no weather data source is any good to me anyway. Many are pretty; many are functional; none have any connection with reality.
I used the smallest Watch for years and now I’m on an Ultra (battery life got me). I never found this screen that difficult to parse on a tiny watch, and didn’t think the Ultra made it much better.
For whatever reason, the Ultra has made workout metrics much more usable for me. Easier to see the numbers at a glance. But the weather screens? Non-issues in either case.
