Upgraded my Macs to Sonoma (14.1) and then did the same with Xcode (15.0.1). However the icon for Xcode looks like this
Xcode runs despite what I suspect is a no-go symbol. What could be the cause of this weirdness?
I’ve seen something like that when I’ve been on the beta. The release version would have that symbol, and the beta would have the normal Xcode icon. Does not seem like that is something you should be seeing, based on what you described.

Bizarre! The Xcode icon in my Dock had the “do not” overlay on it two minutes ago. Clicked on it, Xcode started as expected. ⌘-Tab displayed the unadorned icon. And now the icon in the Dock is also unadorned. There has been no reboot since the Xcode install/update. No other programs have been added or deleted either. Bizarre!
