Yes, I double-checked and ran it as the administrator again - same issue.
However I then went to Finder and magically my Available space jumped from 3.35 Tb to 4.94 Tb. And I rescanned again and Daisy Disk no longer shows the com.apple.asr item.
I am not quite sure what happened, but that’s over 1Tb of space that has been puzzling me for quite some time - and all seems solved now. Thanks to all for the suggetsions.
