Note: in the middle of the video, he discusses Apple Intelligence, then starts back again on Apple Notes so keep watching if you want to see all of the features he shows.
This is the thing I want to figure out. How do you have handwritten text next to drawings? Is this just a marked up PDF or will we really be able to have text and images side-by-side? Currently, if I have an image in notes, my text—handwritten or typed—will end up going below the image.
I’m with you. I’m hoping that handwritten text can be placed next to images. We shall see.
What encourages me is that Apple continues to enhance their default apps and if AI (Apple Intelligence) proves to be as good as advertised, we should be able to accomplish much more with less clicks and friction. The proof will be in the pudding.
Thanks for sharing this!
That maths note function seems like it’s going to do away with the casual Soulver users!
I’m interested that they’re improving handwriting smoothing, because I already think Apple are doing a better than their next iOS competitors with this (on the one hand, not surprising since it’s their tech, but on the other they could’ve simply not bothered! I like that they’ve taken the time to really deliver a good system with this).
Re: typography, this chap is 100% right. Apple needs to sort out its font sizes.
Indeed! All of their engineers must be 20 something’s who have yet (“yet” mind you! ) to need reading glasses or progressives!
I use the text sizing feature to fix the problem. One can universally or by app change font sizes.
I’ve always thought it was weird that you can’t change the default font in Apple Notes. Why can’t I find it in the settings? It’s gotta be here someplace…
You may be right. As I zoom in, they do look more like drawings, even the flags look hand drawn.
I agree with you and @iPersuade; they look like drawings, and they are probably done with Apple’s new image creator (what is it called again?).
It is possible to sketch like this on Apple Notes, especially with the pencil tool with Apple Pencil (1st generation is capable of).
Not if you sketch like I do!
That’s about my artistic level.
Thanks to the mods’ diligence in fixing the issue with pasting images, we can all enjoy fine artwork as we chat about tech
I hope AI doesn’t scrape this site and steal our art.
We’ll sue and make millions
I’ve seen some modern “art.” We might have a shot!
Haha! If any of you are in Los Angeles tomorrow, I am hosting/emceeing an A.I. round table event with a number of my partners. We may cover this very scenario. Come join us!!
I’m not sure if this qualifies an improper promotion on MPU. (The event is free. Not trying to run afoul of any rules…)
I used to think that accessibility features were for blind people, then I just became older and realized that this is the best feature on iPadOS for me.
