Who "sampled it" first?

I like the original MPU music very much.

I like the new MPU music even better.

But I can’t help but think I’ve heard it before…

The opening chime/riff has a familiar sound that has been driving me crazy. But I finally figured it out!

Play “Sunset Grill by Don Henley” and I swear I hear it in the first 30 seconds of that song.

This leads me to ask: Did MPU sample Mr. Henley’s song for a soundbite or did Mr. Henley sample it from Apple?
