Will macOS 26 have a built-in Hyperkey feature?

I’m pretty dependent on having a hyperkey configured ( caps lock for me) on my Mac to trigger automations. While there are several 3rd party tools ( I use karabiner) for this feature, I’d love to see Apple integrate it into their OS.

Since I’m not a beta tester, I don’t know this is in beta. Web search didn’t turn up any results outside of the solutions I already know about.

Does anyone here know if Apple plans on adding a configurable hyperkey as a feature to Tahoe/macOS 26?

I don’t know either but as this is more of a power feature that is not necessarily important to regular consumers, I‘d doubt that. However, I agree with you: having a feature like this implemented in the OS would be nice.
