So, the only bigger screen iPhone is the Pro?
The non adjective iPhone 17 does not have the “Plus” anymore? Bummer!
Ideally, I want an Air with a bigger screen.
Meh. My iPhone SE3 still works.
Although my aging eyes are kinda distracted by those bigger, clearer screens… my inner pragmatist has a better grip on the checkbook.
Replacing Apple Watch SE first Gen with an SE 3 44mm
I’m thinking (and voted) Watch S11 but not until winter. That’ll mark 4 years with my S7, after getting 4 years out of my S3. Battery health/max capacity is down to 80%.
My plan as well. Its a simple upgrade
iPhone 13 still working well, it’s difficult to justify upgrading. Others please upgrade to pump up Apple’s stock price.
I won’t be upgrading for a while as I got the 16 and am more than happy with my Ultra 1 and AirPods 4. The Air does looks compelling, I just couldn’t go with a smaller screen than the Pro Max because I cannot read small text anymore. Every time my wife passes her normal sized Pro I cannot read a thing without glasses!
Still, the Air looks great and I’d love to have a lighter phone. I hardly ever use the camera (maybe once a week if I’m lucky), so a slight downgrade in camera quality means nothing to me.
I have the 14 Pro and really dislike it (heavy and battery life has never been great) so I will likely get a regular 17 at some point this next year. I also feel like this is the year to upgrade my Watch Series 6 but I’m not sure which model to get.
I’m going to wait for the reviews of the camera to decide. Not a lot of major changes but some nice upgrades I appreciate. So I’m a maybe right now. But this is the same decision I make every year. Basically it’s a camera I can make phone calls with.
I might upgrade to the new AirPods Pro though. But not in any rush. The ANC on the pro 1s is pretty good already.
No upgrade from me from the event, but my Series 7 watch will get a new battery.
I bought an Ultra 2 a few months ago because my 6 died a horrible death. The Ultra 2 is terrific and will be for many years to come, I’m sure. Maybe replace my 14 pro with a 17 pro, though there’s really no particular reason to do that.
Apple new hardware releases any more seem to be non-compelling. Stick with the kit until it shows signs of death, and then upgrade.
Katie
Ultra 3 is ordered. Hoping it will be part of a lifestyle change. I’ve gone watch-only before and I am better positioned this time. This precludes a phone upgrade, of course.
I’ll also upgrade my AirPods Pro, and maybe sell my AirPods Max if the battery and ANC claims check out.
I love my iPhone 10s (rockin’ it for 7 years now) but it will be obsolete at the next iOS update. Just bought the 16e which is all I need.
Unfortunately Apple stock dropped yesterday right after Tim said “Thank you for joining us”, and closed lower again today.
The market apparently didn’t see anything that will cause people to upgrade early. Just being a highly successful company worth over $3 trillion isn’t enough. You have to keep growing to make people keep investing these days.
My S4 AW is doing well. I did replace the battery last year to extend its life
My plan is to upgrade when I think the extended battery life is worth it. Even then, I’ll keep the S4 to track sleep.
Yes. 14 → 16e. And after that, it will depend upon whether there’s an iPhone which is ≤ 6.1 in size or not.
Weight is the main reason I’m looking at the Air coming from the 14 Pro. I want a bigger screen but I don’t want a heavy phone. The 17 Pro is exactly the same weight as the 14 Pro, let alone comparing to the Pro Max. I’d prefer something lighter after three years with a chonky feeling phone.
Passed my Xs to my spouse when I got the 15 Pro Max. Now the Xs is on its last legs battery-wise, while I’m constantly finding the size and weight (and one-handed holdability) of the 15PM annoying, so I’ll be getting the 17 Pro and she’ll happily adopt the 15PM. Win-win, I’d say (except for the drop from 5x telephoto to 4x, which is annoying).
