Wired’s take on the Notes App

For anyone who has ever done the following:

Wrote a post about notes apps;
Commented on posts about notes apps;
Read posts about notes apps;
Thought about notes apps; or
Has ever wondered about the obsession with notes,

I think you’ll really enjoy this Wired article about Apple Notes. It won’t make you reconsider your notes app of choice, but you’ll probably resonate with the observations in the article.

Happy reading.

That was a fun read. Notes in popular culture and as used by the non-tech-nerd crowd! I followed from the Wired over to the linked podcast episode which led to a woman on TikTok that did a whole explainer video about how she uses notes for travel packing. She even provides a Notes template in her TikTok bio. She’s got it down to a science with screenshots of the weather during her trip and creates stickers from clothing photos to plan out her daily wardrobe based on planned activities. Obviously, this is a serious planner! Also worth mentioning to see how she’s using all of the new text formatting features in iOS 17. The resulting note is pretty slick looking! Lots of comments on TikTok by enthusiastic Notes app users too.

A very entertaining rabbit hole!

Thanks for sharing. Very fresh perspective on how the general public use the app.
I use Notes and Reminders every single day. They are must have for me.

There are so many more robust choicesavailable, like Google Keep, OneNote, and Joplin.

Google Keep and Onenote?? Seriously. OneNote which has been plauged by Sync issues is now being said to be more robust than Apple Notes.

So you mean: everyone on this forum.
