Workflow or Shortcuts App for Desktop?

I have just gotten into Workflow and love it. I have also applied to be part of the new Shortcuts app beta.

Question: does Apple intend to create a desktop equivalent of Shortcuts? Is there already a Workflow equivalent?

I am already a heavy user of Keyboard Maestro, and I’m sure I could create equivalent workflows there. However, it would be nice to create a workflow and have the ability to use it on all devices.

If they do it is at least a year away, otherwise it would have been announced at WWDC I expect.

I’ve been moving stuff out of Workflow as much as possible b/c the performance is so slow, esp. reading and iterating over file contents. I can’t imagine it would be faster than native scripting on the Mac.
