Would You Buy a Thicker, Heavier iPhone 17 Pro Max?

The rumor is that the new Phone 17 Pro Max will be heavier and thicker. I’m not interested. My current Pro Max is already borderline too big and heavy.

Would you buy a bigger, heavier Pro Max?

No. My 16 Pro is heavier than I would like, especially when I’m wearing business casual or nicer clothes. I guess on-device AI requires a lot more power.

I agree. I may downsize my phone just like I have my iPad. I’m “due” for anew phone as mine is a 13 Pro Max.

Camera changes are what drive me. So if it’s bulkier and heavier cause of new lenses/capabilities, then sure.

If it’s bigger simply for more power for on device AI, then probably not.

NOOOOOOO!!! :scream: Why can’t we have an up to date mini !!!

I haven’t bought the Max sizes, but I like the idea of some phones getting thicker (higher utility) while others get thinner (higher aesthetic and comfort.)

Better cameras/lenses, more battery.

I have the 16 pro Max and I don’t find it to be bulky or heavy.

My favourite model was the iPhone 4 followed by the iPhone X. Solid, almost industrial. Bring it on.

I am using a 13 Pro and I dislike the weight. That stainless steel probably added to the heft. Every time I lift up the phone, I tell myself, no more heavy iPhones. I don’t mind a Max for a bigger screen but I’d not have go for a Max if it’s going to be heavier than this accursed 13 Pro!

I have a 15 Pro Max and that’s the limit for me. Unless they put something like a 1 inch lens in the sensor I don’t think I would be tempted.

I have the 15 Pro Max and am planning on upgrading this fall. Half a millimeter doesn’t scare me in the least. More battery is most welcome - not for local AI, but rather for shooting more video.

Ditto. I don’t mind the phone having a little bit of size/weight if it yields significantly better battery life.

No way! I have a 16 Pro Max and it’s far too heavy already. I only have it charge to 80% and it lasts me a day, so I wouldn’t want a heavier phone that has more battery.

It’s already too heavy to put in jogger pockets, so I can’t take it with me exercising. I’d prefer something lighter but with the same size screen.

Yep, it’s just a phone. Cheaper (ideally), easier to repair (ideally), more battery; sounds good.
Currently on 13 mini, so I’d prefer a smaller footprint that’s thicker too. No plans to upgrade, going to use this till I can’t.

Ditto! My 13 mini is getting old.
