This is clearly a defensive move when Apple is engaged in other battlefronts about gatekeeping and abuse of dominant position.
It’s only fascinating to blog sites that need to push daily engagement.
I see AI as being instrumental in elevating the baseline in computing. The novice that struggles to pen an article with effective prose or the person that isn’t a decent artist can now elevate their floor with art that is not horrid.
At the high end though AI hasn’t shown me enough to make me think that in a decade we’ll be jettisoning our hardware or control for the computer deity in server farm.
Computing still hasn’t effectively solved Place Shifting. There is still too much friction with ubiquitous computing. It’s still cumbersome to shift content around. Hell my wife struggles to simply open Netflix on a device and watch serialized content. Many times she has hit a device login issue that forces her to re-authenticate.
Our problem largely is a human one that created artificial obstacles. AI is going to be entangled within this scope and constrained.
I’d love to be wrong and God willing I’ll be here in a decade to eat crow.
