Thanks Stranis - That prompted ChatGPT instead - it didn’t create a reminder ![]()
That prompted ChatGT instead ![]()
Thanks SteveMac, but to switch off other features like Siri/ChatGPT really defeats the entire concept I think. Thank you so much for your in depth knowledge, but I need my iPhone to work in a stabdardized manner with alle the new coming features as well.
it’s a bug that should be fixed soon, was working up until this version ![]()
Interesting — it’s working on my iPhone 15, where Apple Intelligence isn’t available. Hopefully, as SteveMac suggests, it’s just a bug and will be resolved soon.
Some good news, I can confirm that the new iOS 26 Beta does fix this issue, so you never know it might be fixed in iOS 18 with an update soon.
To remind myself about an email, when the email is open:
1 - Say “Siri remind me about this tomorrow at 4pm”
or
2 - Double tap the bottom of the screen (type to Siri/AI), and type “Remind me about this tomorrow at 4pm”
(One little issue, it doesn’t actually add a title for the reminder, but I’m sure it will)
Do the links work across devices, and do they continue to work if you move the email?
If so, I will be a very happy camper. The inconsistent linking is the only gripe I have about Apple Reminders other than the lack of a review function.
Sadly not @Bmosbacker, agree (very much) this is a feature that seems entirely possible, let’s hope it sneaks in during the beta. Clicking the link on macOS 26 for example when the reminder is set on my iPhone running the beta, only opens the mail app.
Clicking the same on my iPad (with the beta) results in an error “Failed to Open Message”.
Thanks for responding. I don’t run betas, would you mind providing feedback to Apple on this issue? This really needs to be fixed. Thanks for considering it.
No problem at all, submitted a feedback for this across iOS, iPadOS and macOS 26.
Reference is FB18364455 just in case anyone else wants to submit feed-back with a cross reference.
@Marco, that looks great. I’ll try it tomorrow. Is that action that lets you get the details from an email new or was it always there. A lot of functionality of shortcuts is hidden in those long pressing on fields to find all sorts of details nestled within. Thanks.
I’ve actually been using that workflow for over a year, but I didn’t think it would be useful for anyone else. We could probably improve it by adding support for handling attachments, though.
