How do you access MPU? Shout out to Fig IOS app

I’m accessing all my forums through Rambox, which is just a Chromium-based specialised container around web apps – there’s a dozen of such projects out there. It works reasonably well, giving the web experience, but it’s not a polished app such as Fig. The advantage is I can mix all manners of forums in there, along with Slack, and back when I used to be on those things, Facebook and Twitter.

Have you taken a look at Tapatalk?

Someone was complaining about the same thing in a review for Fig.

On a related note, someone replied to your topic on the Fig App Forums @dsh1705.

People really want a Fig app in the Mac App Store, I see.

Please share screenshots! How is it? Which Apple Silicon Mac are you writing from?

I used discoursehub before but Fig looks much better, wow!

Just… why does it have to be a subscription again :frowning: I don’t want to pay monthly for having it a bit easier to access forums. Give me a one-time purchase

On that note, does anyone know how many posts are actually included in the free tier? I tried looking it up but couldn’t find any info on it, just that Fig+ unlocks “unlimited posts”.

It look like that! Definitely has a non-desktop feeling to it but very usable

I can easily use the app without the subscription. The core functionality of the app is free, and the subscription is mostly just to support the developers. I havent hit any sort of post limit (I post very often).

I’m not even sure if there is a limit. If there is one, then there’s a good chance that you’re not going to hit it. I would still give Fig a try. The only problem I had with the free version is private communities requiring Fig+, but the only private community that I’m in is shutting its doors in February of next year.

Wow! It looks awesome! Do notifications work? Does the inbox work? Do certain things not work? You’re making me wish I had an M1 Mac!

It seems like it all works as expected. It does not have any keyboard shortcuts but that seems to be the case of all the IOS apps working in Big Sur for now, hopefully developers will start adding support for them!

I hope so too. Maybe that’ll happen if we get a native Mac version.

The developers are open to suggestions on their forum.

Using Fig on iOS and noticed a few things, I’m wondering if it’s because I’m on an iPhone 8+.

  • When I open the app, I have to pull down to refresh. Should it auto refresh?
  • When I tap to see the original message being replied to, if orig message is too high up in the thread, then the app doesn’t resolve to that message and displays the highest cached message

Create a topic on the developers forum. You’ll be able to get a quicker answer there.

Are the developers still working on this app? I’m concerned…

Mostly browser on desktop, occasionally DiscourseHub on iOS

Either via Safari or Edge browsers.

Anyone else facing issue that is, the “Inbox” tab won’t fetch from MPU discourse?

it says Internal network error.

also happen to DEVONtech discourse, but works normally on 6 other discourse forum.

It works fine for me, I had issues for some other discourse but not MPU

Yeah, I have noticed a ton of bugs while using the app.

The MPU Discourse server was down earlier today?

(I had a similar error in Safari on macOS)

Maybe you need a 12.9” iPad?

Thank you … I have had one or another 12.9 iPad Pro since they were first introduced.
