Fantastic! The cleanliness and lack of clutter fills me with envy.
Do you normally use the MacBook with the display closed like that? I keep mine in approximately the same position, but open. 27” Apple Cinema Display is my main monitor, MacBook shows email all day. I glance over every few minutes. If nothing urgent has come in, I ignore email.
Very nice office and you are very fortunate to have such a set up. I am curious why a 24’ inch monitor instead of 27’. Does the bigger size affect the picture quality from the laptop?
Thank you for sharing your office and tech,
Hank
And now I have the Dell soundbar and the fast charging stand in my Amazon cart… office set-up looks great! Reminds me how much I need to tidy up my cables.
Very nice! In New York where I live that kind of space is rare. In Virginia Beach(and no doubt elsewhere) where my sister lives they call such spaces FROGs (finished room over the garage).
Be proud of the work you do, not the setup. I think sometimes we “power users” can get too carried away with the apps and tools we use and forget about the fact that it’s the work that matters.
Very nice office space and selection of gear. Two questions:
Can you comment on the requirements for the Synology NAS? Can this be enclosed within a desk, or does it need to be open to allow for air circulation? Is the noise from the four Seagate IronWolf drives audible?
What is the advantage to using the Synology 2600 router in addition to the Eero mesh system? I assume that the Eero router is in bridge mode, correct?
Synology R2600AC router is very capable router with very integration of Synology NAS remote access VPN etc etc.
I assume the Eero’s are strickty used as WiFi access points. Might be a bit of overkill for her since she has everything hard wired so there is no real need for the MESH technology to link the Eero’s together.
However the Eero and Google Nest do have a good implementation of “Zero handoff” meaning that while roaming troughout the house there should be a consistend WiFi connection while moving from WiFi (Eero) to WiFi Access Point.
