Same here. I use it to start searches in google/DDG, wikipedia, IMDB, Reddit etc (including live Amazon searches), to look up contacts, search Mail (not sure that’s available in Catalina+), to convert lengths/temps, and especially the 1Password integration. It’s also my go-to quickie calculator.
I turned off the keyboard command for Spotlight and used Command-Spacebar for Alfred.
I think I’d pay $99 a year for Alfred if I had to, but I’m glad I don’t. According to my receipts I’ve paid a total of $25 in almost 10 years. Well worth it!
I purchased the lifetime upgrade. I use workflows several times a day, the 1password integration, and I’m sure other features as I forget which are Powerpack only other than the ones I mentioned. If it weren’t for the one-time purchase TextExpander I’m still using I’d switch that all over to Alfred as it is sufficient for my expansion needs.
Yep same here - bought the lifetime. Worth every cent. Use it every day many, many times. One of the absolute essentials I would install on a new Mac, along with Hazel.
Like @JKoopmans, I really wanted to support the Alfred folks…
Easily, the most used PowerPack feature for me is the 1Password support. To open a site with a log in stored in 1Password, I simply invoke Alfred, then type 1P followed by the first few characters of the web site name. BAM, the site opens in my browser and the username and password are usually already loaded into the site.
With most of my work requiring the use of Web apps, I use this constantly.
Like @Shruggie—and considering some of the apps I use cost $1800 to $4200 per YEAR—I, too, would pay more for Alfred. But shhh… let’s not give them any ideas.
Alfred, Hazel, and TextExpander are the keys to my productivity.
+1 for the Lifetime Powerpack. I can’t imagine using my Mac without Alfred. Workflows, custom searches, clipboard history, advanced file navigation, contact lookup, and sync are just some of the Powerpack features I use every single day.
I do wish though that the Alfred forums used a better platform (Discourse!) and that the process to discover and update workflows was easier and more streamlined.
I would pay for a power pack just for a Bible look up workflow alone. I type in ‘yvf’ and my scripture reference, then I can press enter and be taken directly to the you vervain website, or press CMD+enter and it copies it directly to my clipboard. That alone is worth money lol.
Thanks for all the suggestions. I’m going for the lifetime upgrade and look forward to trying out the workflows and snippets the most. I’ll check out the forum as well.
