November 2020 Event Announcement

I am completely fantasizing about a Mac Pro with pro-grade chips based on the M1…

So will the base model with 8GB RAM and 250GB hard drive be sufficient? I had to boost my current 2012 Mac Mini to 16GB RAM and running off of an external Samsung T5 500GB drive to get acceptable performance. Or will the integration of everything and optimization for Big Sur mean that the lower RAM still gives better performance?

I think I’ll be holding off until I can see the reviews, especially to see if there is a simple way to run a boot drive with user data all held on an external SSD…

But very impressive machines.

agreed, quite impressive, and will wait for the reviews as well.

I’d go with 16GB RAM. On my day to day, 8GB is not sufficient for my MBP.
