One-time paid apps you love!

With everything moving to subscription, what are your favorite one-time app purchases for MacOS?

I’ll start:

  • Alfred (helped me find the MPU forum!!)
  • BetterTouchTool (how is this app so cheap!!, super underrated)
  • Hazel (Thanks MPU)
  • Dark Noise (:kissing_heart: )
  • Keyboard Maestro (Love this, but most of the things I do in this are being done by BTT for me, either way, its an amazing app without a doubt)

PS: I try to stay away from subscription apps, but MPU hooked me up with 1P :frowning:

Really good topic @andy4222

Not an exhaustive list:

  • Things 3
  • Alfred
  • Hazel
  • Endel
  • TV Forecast
  • Tot
  • App in the Air
  • Dark Room

Will stop here… will give others the opportunity ……

I’m always tempted to buy Things 3, but its $70 price tag makes me re-think of paying that much for a To-Do list/ Task Manager.

Endel - seems really good. Did you end up getting the Mac or iOS (iOS is $249. expensive!)

@andy4222 I far as I know, the licence is multi-platform including Mac and Android. I recall paying around a $100 at the time, which now is a few years ago. Its worth it for me.

Things 3 is a bargain at the price. I know its a bit expensive because one has to buy it on each platform separately. however, if you look at others such as todoist and omnifocus, one can easily find value in Things. Having said that, Things is the best task manager for me. Its one of my Forever Five apps.

This is tough because I have hundreds. Here is a list not necessarily of my top apps, but 10 I feel could use a shoutout more than “Alfred” or “Keyboard Maestro” which are sure to be shouted out over and over.

ScreenFloat
Soulver
Hookshot
Swish
Charmstone
Moom
Typeface
Power Menu
Find Any File
DriveDx

  • Twitterrific on macOS
  • Qbserve
  • Marked 2
  • LookUp
  • HistoryHound
  • DEVONsphere Express

Obviously Keyboard Maestro and Alfred

Checked out Better Touch Tool. It is $2.99!!! Wtg, Andy!

I like Things 3 a lot but it is hardly a bargain. I bought Things or Things 2. Then I bought Things 3 iOS app. Next I bought it for my iPhone. Now I am to shell out $50 MORE for my laptop? I’m beginning to get aggravated.

CleanShot is only 1 year of updates for the fee - otherwise it’s extra ££
Love the app and happily pay for the updates

Yes, the non-pro version.

A lot of great apps mentioned so far. One I use on the regular not mentioned yet is Gui Rambo’s wonderful AirBuddy. Highly recommended if you use AirPods with your Mac, makes connecting and managing them way easier!

Better Touch Tool. It is $2.99!

Where did you see that?

I see $8.50 for 2 years: folivora.ai - Great Tools for your Mac!

(I bought the lifetime license, which currently is $20.50)

I use v2 for getting notifications on my MacBook Pro when my iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch is fully charged.

Super useful (to me)!
