I’m not surprised by any of these. I don’t know why ATP is split into two amounts though
Pocket Casts for me. Only one Apple related podcast.
29 days (695 hours) and 59 minutes.
#3 surprised me…politics podcast…election year fever I guess.
Escape Collective is a cycling podcast/website if anyone is curious. Rest are obvious.
Also interesting, is 3 out of 5 I subscribe to. I really cut back on free podcasts in a lot of cases just because of ads.
Old app & new app?
Are you a subscriber and have the specials and regular feeds? They have the same artwork but with different color borders? Maybe it’s cutting off the border?
Possibly.
Maybe they issued a new feed at some point???
No, I don’t subscribe to ATP
That’s what it may look like… from a certain point of view. Quite happy here on the right side of the pennines
Marco talked about that in the Under the Radar episode where he discussed the new feature. I’m not clear on why the split exists, but he did say that he tried different things to combine them and never found a consistent solution so he abandoned the attempt.
Love that he added this feature.
This does make me think I might need to diversify my listening a bit and not just listen to tech podcasts.
Here’s mine. It seems I’m more selective in which episodes (and how much of them) I listen to than I thought. I do often skip ahead a chapter if I think I’ve caught the gist of it. I mostly listen when in the car on my own or walking to go somewhere (plus when I am in the gym).
Pocketcasts for me.
MacPower Users was my 5th most listened podcast and episode #731was the longest episode.
Nice to the see “The Rest is History” on this forum.
I’m slowly listening to the entire Into the Aether backlog and they released a 15 hour episode this year I’ve listened to twice so no surprises as my number 1.
I’ve really fell off listening to Apple centric podcasts in recent years which is reflected here. I also used to be a politics/news junkie so I’m happy to not see of those types show up this year.
I love Into the Aether. Total peaceful relaxing comfort podcast. I spent a lot of time last year working through their backlog as well.
I think ATP is just a fairly long podcast. It often stretches to 2+ hours IIRC.
They do indeed. Pocket Casts has a longest podcast listened to, and the winner was an ATP episode. Guess I haven’t listened to any Hardcore History episodes this year (those can go to about 5 hours).
My stats for podcast listening are simple. There is exactly one (and that only recently) being a daily news show from Korea’s KBS 1 Radio. I’m using it for language immersion along side a Korea language course. Also it is not from Overcast but the Korean NAVER service. Most likely to remain the one-and-only podcast for some time as my language skill improves whereupon it will become a major source of global news rather than a learning aid.
The other things Overcast added was a history (in settings) of the podcasts you’ve listened to and the ability to restore podcasts which have been deleted and to reset skips and jumps.
I needed this feature this morning and went to restore 3 podcasts my phone had listened to without me.
Top notch.
