Grab a discounted 6 before they’re gone?
My 11” Pro is primarily a work machine. It’s in my work bag every day.
The mini is for reading and casual gaming.
Sadly, I lost my iPad Pro, well actually gave it up since it was being dropped a little too much…
I haven’t had the need tor two iPads at the same time. Of course that’s no reason to not have two iPads, though.
iPad mini looks cool, but I’ve survived this long without any iPads so I guess I’ll live.
My Series 4 watch is still doing fine so no upgrade there either.
I’m just excited the new phone is coming out which will push the price of the 12 down. I have been waiting to upgrade and get the flat sides again. Woohoo!
I figure I kept mine four 4 years. I think I’m just going to go with the 7
Couldn’t control myself, a purple iPad mini is coming my way
Also, is it common for preorders to open on the day of the event. This feels new.
For non-iPhone products, it’s pretty common. For instance at last year’s September event, the base model iPad and the Apple Watch were available for same-day orders, while the iPad Air was not. Nothing from the October event was available that day (iPhone 12 and 12 Pro were available the following Friday, iPhone 12 mini, Pro Max and HomePod mini were’t available until November). All three M1 Macs announced at the November event could be ordered right after the Keynote.
FWIW, I’ve been using this:
Free, and seems decent.
I personally subscribe to headspace (grandfathered into an old lower cost plan)
but I have recommended Smiling Mind to many people because it’s completely free and is very good - has iPhone, IPad and android app.

+1
I’m a therapist and recommend Smiling Mind to my clients and colleagues all the time. It’s developed by psychologists, free, and the app is solid.
I’m in for a new iPhone, having been holding out with an iPhone 8 for years.
What accessories do people recommend?
MagSafe?
MagSafe Battery case?
Anything else?
Another thing, I usually go running with my iPhone in a fanny pack in which I also hold
my keys. Does anyone know of a good way to keep the keys from scratching the iPhone? Like an iPhone bag or something?
You might already have a fanny pack or sling that you like but one option is Bellroy’s Sling Mini which has compartments to keep items seperate. Or you could keep your keys in the Bellroy Key Cover or Orbitkey so they aren’t jangling.
Remember the iPod socks from 2004… I wonder if someone makes something similar for the iPhone?
The good old days.
I personally use sleeves for my iPhone and it’s served me well for years. I actually prefer to use the iPhone naked so having a sleeve in situations where it needs to go in my pocket or backpack is a good compromise
I am the same, I have had a Sena leather sleeve for my iPhone since the iPhone 4 day, I normally have to order it from the US so its quite expensive but it gives me the right amount of protection from scratches without adding bulk and still lets me use the iPhone naked.
I absolutely love the iPad Mini and if the price had not increased I would have ordered one. Also, the 256GB is significantly more expensive than the 64gb model, I was expecting around $100 difference. I currently have a 2018 iPad Pro 11 which is a great size for my needs. I bought a secondhand iPad mini 2 so that I could see if it would fit into my workflow but the lack of touchID and Apple Pencil support, and the fact that it is soooo slow meant that its just been sitting on my night stand.
I may look out for a secondhand iPad mini 6 in a few months.
Agreed on having the iPhone naked. I’m still contemplating MagSafe or not. Where are people on MagSafe? And especially the MagSafe battery case?
I hear you mate. I almost got the 64gb but I know it won’t be enough for me. I also do not see Apple updating the mini as often as the bigger iPads. So I will be keeping this around for some time. The price difference is substantial between the 64gb and the 256gb. I would have been happy with 128gb
I ended up getting the 256gb and I kinda convinced myself that I am getting almost 4 times the storage.
I have an Anker magnetic wireless charging stand
I like the idea of a magsafe battery pack but don’t have a need for it. The other place I think the Magsafe would be useful is as a car holder/charger but my wife uses an iPhone X and we regularly drive each others cars so cant get a magnetic car charger yet.
I love the wallet but it wont work with my Sena case I assume and I already have a nice slim wallet from Bellroy.
OK So I’ve got one reserved and will be doing the preorder tomorrow…
iPhone 13Pro
256GB
Graphite
ooo just realized I should post this elsewhere… and edited because I decided to go with more storage to 512GB
Was finally able to check out my phone upgrade. For some reason, the check out page would not accept my Apple Card so had to enter another credit card to complete the process.
Had a blue 12 Pro but didn’t like this year’s blue so went back to the gray.
Damn, AT&T has the 12 Pro (128GB) for cheaper than the 12 (64GB), I guess I’m going Pro. I feel so fancy. That seems like a major pricing inefficiency.
